Humanitarian Trips: Camp Overview

Camp "Aist" (Stork) is located in a picturesque national park area 30 miles South of Kharkov. The nearest town is Velyka Gomilsha established in 1640, with a current population of 450 residents.

The camp is 40 acres big, has several housing buildings accommodating up to 300 kids every summer, a dining hall, a theater for 450 spectators, access to a lake, several outdoor activity spots, medical office. A medical professional is on duty 24/7.

An exact itinerary for each trip is outlined closer to the departure day, but a typical daily schedule at the camp looks like this:

  • Wake up horn
  • Morning work-out
  • Breakfast
  • English class
  • Sports/Outdoor activities
  • Lunch
  • Quiet hour/Reading time
  • English class
  • Arts and crafts/Informal socializing
  • Dinner
  • Night movie
  • Lights out

A typical accommodation is 2-3 people per room, with the shared shower and bathroom. If you have any specific questions as far as accommodations and living conditions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we’ll put you in touch with our project’s participants who visited Camp “Aist” before.
